Last week was our open enrollment meeting during which our insurance representative told us that the large part of premiums going up and coverage going down was due to increasing medical costs and that we should endeavor to not get sick. The myriad of things wrong with this could fill a book not least of which is I paid for the bulk of my last yearly physical checkup out of pocket so they won't pay if I get sick but they won't help to keep me healthy. Public option, FTW.
